2009-10 Assist Leader

Since the 1969-70 NBA season, the assist leader is the player with the best assists per game average. Previously, from 1946-47 through the 1968-69 season, the NBA assist leader was the player with more total assist at the end of each season.

In 2007-08 and 2008-09 Chris Paul led all players in assists, breaking the monotony of the previous years that were dominated by Jason Kidd (5 times) and Steve Nash (3 times). Nash did it again in 2009-10.
